Having raised $400 millon of funding in 2022 alone, the company is valued at more than $4.5 billion. Wefox is present in six European countries: Germany, Austria, Spain, France, Italy and Switzerland.

Challenge

After closing a large funding round at the end of 2019, wefox was focused on exponentially scaling their digital product initiatives. But the existing product team was relatively junior. The company lacked sufficient senior-level tech talent and core competencies internally. Moreover, Wefox’s Chief Product Officer was brand new. She was eager to start hiring, prioritizing the growing pipeline, and establishing core working practices for the new teams. That’s where MVP Match was called in to support.

Our approach

MVP Match built up a managed team to support the CPO, starting with a product director and a senior product manager. Match located both experts within 1 week, and they took over operational ownership immediately. The product director managed basic process mapping and hiring, and supported the CPO across the board on strategic topics. The senior product manager addressed the growing pipeline and worked directly with the development team based in Barcelona. The managed team grew to include Java engineers to help the CPO realize short term goals without needing to wait for resources from the core tech team.
