About the Client

Selfapy is a startup that supports people with mental disorders such as depression by providing online courses and advice from psychologists.

Challenge

When we first spoke to Selfapy, they already had a web product, but needed support in building the according mobile app. This app should allow their customers to be more flexible in using their psychological services, no matter where they are. The requirements for the mobile solution were to provide the same functionalities (three main building blocks: content/ courses, psychologist consultation via chat, symptom tracking) as the Web solution. The first version of the app already existed, however it neither brought all the functionalities they needed, nor the design that would have been appealing to their users.

Our approach

After an initial call with Selfapy’s CEO and CTO, we matched them with one of our CPO level experts, who helped them to scope the project out within an intensive, one-day workshop. They defined the required team size, skills and expected duration. With those criteria, we built a cost-efficient, remote mobile team within 2 weeks only, which was led by our Product Expert who later joined Selfapy as their CPO on a permanent basis.

Results

Within a period of two months, the mobile team built a new version of the mobile app, allowing their user to enjoy all the functionalities they knew from the web app with a more lean user flow, an updates design and some new features.
