About the Client
DB Schenker is a global supply chain and logistics company. Schenker Ventures is their venture building unit, that builds digital products, disrupting traditional logistics.
Challenge
Schenker Ventures is building a SaaS platform that streamlines the customs clearance process in Egypt. For creating a proof of concept, they needed to augment one of their teams with a senior engineer who could deliver high-quality and was familiar with both logistics and the Arabic market. Due to the short timeline, they wanted to recruit a freelancer. As they are facing a slow, inflexible procurement process, it was difficult to hire individual freelancers. A contract with MVP Match allowed them to request multiple freelancers, without going through the procurement process over and over.
Our approach
MVP Match met DB Schenker’s procurement requirements with its legally-compliant service. Once they got the green light to hire, Match identified and screened two top-qualified, remote freelancers within a week. DB Schenker interviewed both candidates and hired one of them who began working within 5 days. A month later, he hired a second freelancer through Match.
Results
By hiring 2 resources through Match, Schenker Ventures had a team ready to start in 5 days, compared with 3 months for a perm hire. This resulted in a 50% faster launch-within 3 months instead of 6 months. Schenker Ventures now has options to convert both freelancers to permanent employees. They can also ramp staffing up or down with notice periods of 2 weeks. Moreover, MVP Match’s collated monthly invoice and easy-to-use platform saves management overhead.
